Webinar: Transforming Power Plant Water Treatment: Real-World Success Stories in Cost Savings, Compliance & Efficiency

Overview
Are high chemical costs and sludge issues draining your coal-fired power plant’s budget? From FGD water treatment to coal pile runoff clarification and achieving zero liquid discharge goals, many plants struggle with excessive chemical use, sludge management, and compliance risks amid increasingly stringent environmental standards.
In this webinar, EES will share proven strategies that have saved millions of dollars while improving reliability and compliance for leading utilities.

Using on-site assessments, treatability testing at our laboratory facilities, and custom KLeeNwater™ chemical blends, we’ll demonstrate how these solutions turn underperforming systems into operational successes—transforming water treatment from a regulatory burden into a strategic advantage.

Key Case Studies Covered

  • Coal Pile Runoff Clarification System:
    • Achieved a 43% reduction in chemical costs (saving over $100,000 annually) by decreasing coagulant use by more than 60% (from 74ppm to 29ppm)
    • 50% reduction of caustic feed, and 40% reduction of polymer feed
    • Increased filter cake solids by 30% for easier disposal
  • FGD Thickener Commissioning Project:
    • Cut polymer dose by 80% (from 200ppm to 40ppm) using KLeenwater’s  polymer vs. large competitor’s recommended product.
    • Eliminated $84,000 in yearly equipment rental costs with owned make-down systems providing a one-year ROI
    • Reduced chemical expenses by over $500,000 annually
  • FGD Fines Clarification System:
    • Resolved severe sludge plugging, pump failures, and supernatant quality problems with customized coagulant-flocculant blends
    • Improving gypsum dewatering for better blending profitability
    • Reduced maintenance downtime
